Industrial goalsThe VPHOP has started on the 1st of September 2008.
Commercial exploitation plans will be defined in detail only after the first concrete results are achieved.
At this stage we can foresee a number of potentially marketable innovations, including:
- Imaging technology to generate whole bone patient-specific models with
very low dose
- Wearable activity monitor capable of capturing patient life style
for one week including para-physiological events
- Hypermodelling technology for the creation of massive multiscale
models using heterogeneous codes
- Data sharing and translation services for large biomedical and
simulation datasets
- Software technology for the patient-specific deterministic prediction of
the absolute risk of fracture
- Tissue level, in vivo imaging at spine and hip with clinically acceptable
doses
- Cellular activity models, capable of predicting the functional outcome
of different pharmacological modulations of the bone metabolism.
